Review: Hunger

Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Death comes knocking at Lisa's door and offers her the opportunity to be Famine, one of the Riders of the Apocalypse. It is an interesting choice since Lisa suffers from an eating disorder and her life is ruled by food. However, as a rider, Lisa is able to come to terms with her food issues and seek help from those that love her.

I like how the Jackie Kessler took a unique approach to writing about eating disorders. I also thought it would interesting how in the end she talks about her own bought with bulimia. This is a great book for any teen, especially those with an eating disorder. Even if you are not a teen, Hunger is still an interesting read and I look forward to reading the next book in the Riders of the Apocalypse series.
